Closer is my first photography exhibition. It features close-up photographs of flowers and plants that I have taken over the past few years, and especially during this year.
Lately, I have found myself moving closer and closer with my camera. I’m drawn to small details, light, colours and shapes – things that are easy to miss unless you stop and really look.
Close-up photography has also become a meditative way for me to slow down and be present in the moment. With my camera, my attention shifts completely to what is right in front of me. Seen up close, even a familiar flower or plant can suddenly look completely different, sometimes almost abstract.
This is also where the name Closer comes from. It is about moving closer, but even more about what we can notice when we stop and take a closer look.
